Since crashing or cracking your Hamsterball takes up time, the less you crash, the better you'll do in the tournament. Your only true obstacle in Hamsterball is time. Whenever you crash a hamster via a long fall or collision with an enemy, you will receive a new hamster, materializing somewhere nearby. You can crack, smash, and all-around abuse your hamster as much as you want. Each stage has a time limit, and any leftover seconds carry over to the next level, but once the timer hits zero you're one dead hamster. With no opponents or tricky passages, the first stage lets you get a feel for controlling the rodent, but the difficulty soon picks up.
